Help us pack the box truck!
We’re teaming up with the United Way of Gloucester County, The Board of County Commissioners-County of Gloucester Human Service Advisory Council and the People for People Foundation to collect as much food as we can possibly fit into our 16 foot Box Truck! Read on to find out how you can be a part of Gloucester County Cares About Hunger Food Drive, a community-wide event that runs from Monday Februrary 21 through Sunday February 27th.
Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from or how you’ll feed your family. What would you do? Sadly, hunger is a year-round issue for more than 200,000 South Jersey residents who are currently food insecure. Children who come home from school to an empty plate. Seniors make the difficult choice of whether to eat or pay for medicine. Families that don’t have enough to pay bills and keep three meals on the table. Local food pantries provide a needed safety net for those who are dealing with this painful situation. After the holiday season and through COVID-19, many pantries find they are depleted, and we need your help to stock the shelves with food to reduce hunger in South Jersey.
The Gloucester County Cares about Hunger Food Drive is sponsored by The United Way of Gloucester County, The Board of County Commissioners-County of Gloucester Human Service Advisory Council and the People for People Foundation.
The food drive begins on Monday, February 21 and ends on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Donations can be dropped off at 46 N Main Street, Mullica Hill any time between 9 and 5 Monday through Saturday February 21nd to 26th.
The truck will also be accepting donations at the Shop Rite of Mullica Hill Parking Lot on Friday February 25th through Sunday February 27th
Preferred Items are as follows to Pack the Box Truck:
- Non perishable foods
- Canned and shelf stable Dairy products
- JUICE – CANNED AND PLASTIC CONTAINERS
- RICE, PASTA, AND PASTA SAUCES
- HOT/COLD CEREALS
- CANNED VEGETABLES AND FRUITS
- SNACKS, CRACKERS, FRUIT SNACKS
- PANCAKE MIX, SYRUP
- PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS
- PET FOOD (UP TO 15 LB BAG)
